Asian American Women Anthology Project (2024)

Inspired by Charlotte Pierce-Baker's "Surviving the Silence: Black Women's Stories of Rape", the Asian American Women Anthology Project aims to provide a platform for Asian American women in MN & WI whose voices have been silenced by experiences of gender-based violence (GBV). Through storytelling, the AAWAP seeks to shed light on this issue and preserve stories of resilience within our community.

Editing of Memoir Manuscript (2023)

Txhee Belinda Xiong is a fiscal year 2023 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

For this project, Txhee Belinda Xiong held a Zoom meeting at the end of the project year as part of her effort to create a safe, accessible space with some survivors attending. While the names of attendees have been intentionally omitted to protect their privacy, the event was a meaningful and successful gathering. Participants engaged deeply, and the feedback received reflected a strong sense of trust, safety, and empowerment; especially within the Hmong community.
